Music Director definition

Music Director means a part time employee who directs and supervises the music department of the CJAM-FM operations of SMC;
Music Director. The Music Director/Principal Conductor engaged by the Society to develop the Society’s music programming and conduct the Orchestra. Music Librarian: Contracted and paid by the Society to secure, distribute and return music to the source for each performance. Music Director means (i) the General Music Director when referring to engagements of the ballet and/or opera and the ballet/opera orchestra and (ii) Music Director for Musical Theater when referring to musical shows, operettas or other shows featuring "swing" type music, including television shows such as, but not limited to, Xxxxxxx Center Honors and other gala television shows, or any other engagements played by the musical/operetta orchestra. It is intended (unless excluded herein elsewhere) that tenured musicians shall be offered such work first. It is intended that in those cases where the Center is not the employer, the Center shall make it known to the outside employer that its orchestra is available to play such engagements. Should the outside employer elect not to avail himself of this offer, it is understood and agreed that the Center shall be held harmless from any claims which may be made against it by the tenured members of its orchestra for the alleged loss of such employment. In the event that, during the term of this Agreement, the status of a particular engagement relative to the identity of employer changes from the Center as employer to an outside booking, this and any other affected provisions of this Agreement shall be re-opened for further negotiation. The use of the term "engagement" throughout this Agreement shall be defined as the entire length (rehearsals and performances) of a Company's residency at the Xxxxxxx Center.
