Multiple Damages definition

Multiple Damages means additional damages resulting from the multiplication of compensatory damages against an Insured, such additional damages being awarded as a result of the Insured or their legal advisors or both having engaged in unnecessary delaying tactics or having hindered the due process of the court in some other manner.
Multiple Damages means an amount payable under a judgment which has been arrived at by multiplying by any factor a sum assessed as compensation for loss or damage sustained by a person in whose favour the judgment was given;

  • Punitive Damages are those damages awarded as a penalty, the amount of which is neither governed nor fixed by statute.
