Military Reserve Leave. 1. Any employee who is a member of national military reserve unit or National Guard shall be allowed up to seventeen (17) days leave without loss of pay or other accumulated leave, when ordered to active duty by the appropriate unit during the regular term. Military Reserve Leave. A Teacher who is a member of the Australian Military Reserve or other Australian military forces shall be granted unpaid leave for the purpose of attending any compulsory camp or posting.
Military Reserve Leave. 1. Any teacher employee, who as a reserve member of the armed forces of the United States, is called on to receive temporary military training, shall be entitled to a temporary leave, not to exceed federal guidelines in any one calendar year. The teacher shall have deducted from his/her pay only the amount required to replace the teacher with a substitute so long as the teacher does not have the option of attending during the summer. If the training is available in the summer and the teacher chooses to attend during the school year, the teacher shall have deducted from his pay the amount received from the military service. Upon his return, he/she will be restored to his/her previous position without loss of sick leave or other benefits of employment.
Military Reserve Leave. Employees shall be entitled to a leave of absence with pay, in accordance with established legal requirements, for service in the Armed Forces of the United States or the State of Minnesota.

Each member of the paraprofessional staff covered by this contract who is a member of a state or national reserve complement shall be entitled to the number of days the reserve unit requires the paraprofessional. The BSC agrees to pay the differential between military pay and the paraprofessional's salary when the former is smaller, during this period of temporary active duty. Every effort shall be made by a paraprofessional in cooperation with the Superintendent or his/her designee to arrange for the fulfilling of active duty reserve obligation at times other than when schools are in session.

Upon presentation of proper evidence by the employee, the difference in pay between an employee’s regular pay and military pay will be allowed for a period of not more than 14 scheduled workdays, which need not be consecutive.
