Local Traffic definition

Local Traffic for the purposes of this Agreement the Parties shall agree that “Local Traffic” means traffic (excluding Commercial Mobile Radio Service “CMRS” traffic) that is originated and terminated within Embarq’s local calling area, or mandatory extended area service (EAS) area, as defined by the Commission or, if not defined by the Commission, then as defined in existing Embarq Tariffs. For this purpose, Local Traffic does not include any ISP-Bound Traffic.
Local Traffic means traffic that is originated by an end user of one Party and terminates to the end user of the other Party within the Parties’ then current local serving area, including traffic between a LEC and a CMRS provider that at the beginning of the call, originates and terminates within the same Major Trading Area (MTA). Local traffic does not include Internet Service Provider (ISP) traffic originated by an end user of one Party and routed to an ISP Point of Presence.
Local Traffic means traffic (excluding CMRS traffic) that is originated and terminated within Sprint’s local calling area, or mandatory extended area service (EAS) area, as defined by the Commission or, if not defined by the Commission, then as defined in existing Sprint tariffs. For this purpose, Local Traffic does not include any ISP-Bound Traffic.

Examples of Local Traffic in a sentence

  • Ameritech will Interconnect with AT&T for purposes of delivering Local Traffic and IntraLATA Toll Traffic originating in Ameritech's network for termination on AT&Ts network by using one of the following methods or such other methods as may be agreed upon by the Parties.

  • Under this method of Interconnection, Ameritech may transport Local Traffic and IntraLATA Toll Traffic to the designated Point of Interconnection ("POI") in AT&Ts Wire Centers by using its self-provided facilities which are terminated in Ameritech's equipment located in the LEC Access Equipment Room (1) in AT&Ts Wire Center used to provide total service access (2) for AT&T or in AT&T provided equipment (when both AT&T and Ameritech are located in the same building).

  • The transport and termination elements for Local Traffic depend on the type of Interconnection between the Parties.

  • CLEC and CenturyLink will exchange Local VoIP-PSTN Traffic on the same basis and at the same rates as Local Traffic which is not VoIP-PSTN Traffic.

  • Such facilities will be used by SBC ILLINOIS solely for purposes of delivering Local Traffic and IntraLATA Toll Traffic originating in SBC ILLINOIS' network for termination on CLEC's local network.


More Definitions of Local Traffic

Local Traffic. Traffic, including VoIP-PSTN Traffic, that is originated by an End User of one Party who is physically located in a CenturyLink Local Calling Area on that Party’s network and terminated to an End User of the other Party who is physically located in the same Local Calling Area on that Party’s network. Pursuant to the FCC’s clarifying orders, Local Traffic includes Information Service Traffic only to the extent that the End User and the Information Service Provider are physically located in the same CenturyLink Local Calling Area. Local Traffic for purposes of intercarrier compensation does not include: (a) any traffic that does not originate and terminate within the same CenturyLink Local Calling Area (b) Toll Traffic, including, but not limited to, calls originated on a 1+ presubscription basis, or on a casual dialed (10XXX/101XXXX) basis;
Local Traffic and “Local Calls” means calls that originate and terminate within the Local Calling Area as defined in the Qwest tariff. Qwest will provide service control points in the same manner, and via the same signaling links, as Qwest uses such service control points and signaling links to provide service to its End User Customers served by that switch. Qwest's call related databases include the Line Information Database (LIDB), Internetwork Calling Name Database (ICNAM), 8XX Database for toll free calling, AIN Databases, and Local Number Portability Database. CLEC will not have access to Qwest's AIN-based services that qualify for proprietary treatment, except as expressly provided for in the Agreement or this Attachment. Local Switching does not include use of Qwest's signaling network for Toll Traffic. “Toll Traffic” and “Toll Calls” means intra local access and transport area (“LATA”) or interLATA calls that originate and terminate outside of the Local Calling Area as defined in the Qwest tariff. For all Toll Traffic originated by or terminated to CLEC’s QLSP End User Customer, Qwest may xxxx applicable tariff charges, including SS7 message charges [ISDN User Part (ISUP) and Transaction Capabilities Application Part (TCAP)], to the Interexchange Carrier (IXC) or other wholesale SS7 provider.
Local Traffic unless otherwise defined by Applicable Law, is traffic that is originated by a Customer of one Party on that Party's network and terminates to a Customer of the other Party on that other Party's network, within a given local calling area, or expanded area service ("EAS") area, as defined in BA's effective Customer tariffs, or, if the Commission has defined local calling areas applicable to all LECs, then as so defined by the Commission.
Local Traffic means traffic that is originated by an end user of one Party and terminates to the end user of the other Party within GTE's then current local serving area, including mandatory local calling scope arrangements. A mandatory local calling scope arrangement is an arrangement that provides end users a local calling scope, Extended Area Service ("EAS"), beyond their basic exchange serving area. Local Traffic does not include optional local calling scopes (i.e., optional rate packages that permit the end user to choose a local calling scope beyond their basic exchange serving area for an additional fee), referred to hereafter as "optional EAS." Local Traffic excludes Information Service Providers ("ISP") traffic (e.g., Internet, paging, 900-976, etc.).

Local Traffic means the traffic on account of commuting by a private Car on the Project Highway; provided (i) such private Car is owned by a person who resides in within a distance of 15 (fifteen) km from the Toll Plazas, and (ii) such area has no alternative connecting road; For the avoidance of doubt, a road that connects such area shall not be deemed to be an alternative road for purposes hereof if it increases the travel distance by more than 20% (twenty percent) of the corresponding distance on the Project Highway;
Local Traffic is defined for all purposes under this Agreement as traffic that: (a) is originated by a customer of ALLTEL Wireless on ALLTEL Wireless’ CMRS network, is terminated to RLEC’s subscriber on RLEC’s network within ALLTEL Wireless’ Local Service Area, and may be handled pursuant to an agreement between ALLTEL Wireless and a carrier that performs only a transiting function for ALLTEL Wireless in lieu of a direct connection with RLEC; or (b) is originated by a subscriber of RLEC on RLEC’s network within RLEC’s Local Service Area, and is terminated to a ALLTEL Wireless customer that has an NPA-NXX code located within the same RLEC’s Local Service Area.
