Local Limits definition

Local Limits means limits on industrial users, developed by a POTW, technically based on site-specific factors to protect the POTW's operations from interference and pass through and to ensure that the POTW's dischargers comply with state and federal requirements. Local limits may be expressed as numerical values, narrative statements or best management practices, or a combination of these.
Local Limits means a specific enforceable prohibition, standard or requirement (numerical or non-numerical) on discharges by nondomestic users established by the POTW to meet the purposes and objectives of this Ordinance and to comply with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Local Limits means technically based limits established by the POTW for certain pollutants to protect against pass-through or interference. (#18)

Examples of Local Limits in a sentence

  • A Slug Discharge is any Discharge of a non-routine, episodic nature, including but not limited to an accidental spill or a non-customary batch Discharge, which has a reasonable potential to cause Interference or Pass Through, or in any other way violate the POTW’s regulations, Local Limits or Permit conditions.

  • Pretreatment Standards shall mean prohibited discharge standards, categorical Pretreatment Standards, and Local Limits.

Local Limits means any regulation containing Pollution Discharge limits promulgated by Dominion in accordance with 40 C.F.R. 405.5(c) and (d), which are deemed to be enforceable as Pretreatment Standards in accordance with Section 307 (d) of the Act and which, once approved, are attached to these Rules and Regulations as Exhibit C.
