Local Calls definition

Local Calls for purposes of intercarrier compensation, is traffic where all calls are within the same common local and common mandatory local calling area, i.e., within the same or different SBC Exchange(s) that participate in the same common local mandatory local calling area approved by the applicable state Commission. Local Calls must actually originate and actually terminate to parties physically located within the same common local or common mandatory local calling area.
Local Calls means calls that originate and terminate within the Local Calling Area as defined in the Qwest tariff. Qwest will provide service control points in the same manner, and via the same signaling links, as Qwest uses such service control points and signaling links to provide service to its End User Customers served by that switch. Qwest's call related databases include the Line Information Database (LIDB), Internetwork Calling Name Database (ICNAM), 8XX Database for toll free calling, AIN Databases, and Local Number Portability Database. CLEC will not have access to Qwest's AIN-based services that qualify for proprietary treatment, except as expressly provided for in the Agreement or this Attachment. Local Switching does not include use of Qwest's signaling network for Toll Traffic. “Toll Traffic” and “Toll Calls” means intra local access and transport area (“LATA”) or interLATA calls that originate and terminate outside of the Local Calling Area as defined in the Qwest tariff. For all Toll Traffic originated by or terminated to CLEC’s QLSP End User Customer, Qwest may xxxx applicable tariff charges, including SS7 message charges [ISDN User Part (ISUP) and Transaction Capabilities Application Part (TCAP)], to the Interexchange Carrier (IXC) or other wholesale SS7 provider.
Local Calls means a call between a telephone service and a telephone service where: the A-Party and the B-Party are in the same Standard Charging Zone; the A-Party and the B-Party are in adjoining Standard Charging Zones; or either the A- Party or the B-Party is located in a Charging Precinct and the other is inits designated Standard Charging Zone, as defined in the Act, the Numbering Plan, and the Telstra PSTN SFOA.

Examples of Local Calls in a sentence

  • Calls delivered to or from numbers that are assigned to an exchange within a common mandatory local calling area but where the receiving or calling party is physically located outside the common mandatory local calling area of the exchange to which the number is assigned are either Feature Group A (FGA) or Foreign Exchange (FX) and are not Local Calls for intercarrier compensation and are not subject to local reciprocal compensation.

  • This information will also be utilized by the Parties for use in verifying and auditing to confirm the jurisdictional nature of Local Calls and is required from the originating Party under the terms of this Appendix.

  • By way of interpretation, and without limiting the application of the foregoing, the Parties intend for retroactive compensation adjustments, to the extent they are ordered by Intervening Law, to apply uniformly to all traffic among ILEC, CLEC and Commercial Mobile Radio Service (CMRS) carriers in the state where traffic is exchanged as Local Calls within the meaning of this Appendix.

  • Shared Transport does not include use of tandem switches or transport between tandem switches and end-office switches for Local Calls that originate from end users served by non- Qwest Telecommunications Carriers (“Carrier(s)”) which terminate to QLSP End Users.

  • By way of interpretation, and without limiting the application of the foregoing, the Parties intend for retroactive compensation adjustments, to apply to all traffic among ILEC, CLEC, and CMRS carriers in the state where traffic is exchanged as Local Calls within the meaning of this Appendix.


More Definitions of Local Calls

Local Calls are as defined by the Commission. Local Calls currently include all 0-12 mile calls based on the rate centers of the originating and terminating NPA-NXXs of the callers (these include ZUM Zone 1 and ZUM Zone 2 calls) and, where established in incumbent LEC tariffs, ZUM Zone 3 and Extended Area Service (EAS) calls.
Local Calls for the purpose of reciprocal compensation, are Authorized Services Completed Calls that originate on either Party’s network, that terminate on the other Party's network, that are exchanged directly or indirectly between the Parties and that, at the beginning of the call, originate and terminate within the same MTA.
Local Calls and “National calls” means a call terminated on a fixed line network operator within South Africa;
Local Calls for the purpose of Facilities compensation, are Paging Authorized Services Completed Pages that originate on Telco’s network, that terminate on Carrier's network, that are exchanged directly between the Parties and that, at the beginning of the call, originate and terminate within the same MTA.
Local Calls for purposes of intercarrier compensation, is as defined in Appendix Reciprocal Compensation.”
Local Calls. Local calls" are calls which originate from subscribers of a service provider's network/exchange system in a SDCA and terminate either (i) within the same SDCA or (ii) in the contiguous telephone exchange system of the adjacent SDCA, provided these are delivered/handed over to another service provider's network in the destination SDCA only.
Local Calls are calls that are completed where there is no charge for the completion of the call in NEVADA’s serving territory as defined by the Commission.
