Licensed Independent Practitioner definition

Licensed Independent Practitioner means any individual permitted by law and by the Medical Staff and Board to provide care and services without direction or supervision, within the scope of the individual’s license and consistent with individually granted clinical privileges.
Licensed Independent Practitioner means an advanced practice nurse or physician’s assistant licensed pursuant to 24 Del.C. Ch. 17 and 24 Del.C. Ch. 19.

  • This Section applies to all requests for modification of clinical privileges during the term of appointment (increases and relinquishments), resignation from the Medical Staff or as an Advanced Practice Professional or Licensed Independent Practitioner, and waivers related to eligibility criteria for clinical privileges or the scope of those privileges.

  • If the Board makes any of the above determinations without an adverse recommendation by the MEC, an Advanced Practice Professional or Licensed Independent Practitioner would also be entitled to request a hearing.
