Layoff List definition

Layoff List. A list of persons who have occupied positions allocated to a class in the Merit System and who have been involuntarily separated by layoff or displacement, or demoted by displacement, or have voluntarily demoted in lieu of layoff or displacement, or have transferred in lieu of layoff or displacement.

  • Employees who were not able to bump, transfer, or demote to a previously held class(es) in lieu of layoff shall be placed on the Seniority Unit Layoff List for the previously held bargaining unit class(es) for which they have indicated availability.

  • An employee on either the Seniority Unit or Class Layoff List shall be notified of recall by written personal notice (receipted) or certified mail (return receipt required) sent to the employee's last known address at least fifteen (15) calendar days prior to the reporting date.
