lay-off means the termination of an employee's employment because of lack of work or because of the discontinuance of a function;

Examples of lay-off in a sentence

  • A Layoff ends on the earlier of the effective date of a recall or the date the Participant’s service terminates, and such Layoff has continued for at least twenty-four months calculated from the first day of the Lay Off.

  • Lay Off If you are laid off prior to January 28, 2009, you will forfeit all of your RSUs in accordance with the general rule requiring continued employment during the Restricted Period.
