Joint powers agency definition

Joint powers agency or "joint powers authority" means an agency or entity formed pursuant to the Joint Exercise of Powers Act (Article 1 (commencing with Section 6500) of Chapter 5 of Division 7 of Title 1) that is formed for the local performance of governmental functions that includes the provision of municipal services.

  • Nodal Agency means the Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited, (MPUVNL) Bhopal;

  • State Contracting Agency means the department for which this contract is to be performed and for which the Commissioner or Authorized Designee acted in signing this contract.

  • Board of Appeals means the local board of appeals as created by local ordinance.

  • Member Agency means a voting and dues paying municipal or other government entity located within Kitsap County which is a party to this Agreement.

  • Procurement organization means an eye bank, organ procurement organization, or tissue bank.

  • Board of County Commissioners means the Board of County Commissioners, Orange County, Florida, or their duly authorized representative(s).

  • Supervising agency means an agency licensed by the state

  • Central Agency means the agency operating the National Load Despatch Centre or such other agency as the Central Commission may designate from time to time;

  • Combatant Commander means the commander of a unified or specified combatant command established in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 161.

  • Municipal Political Party Committee means a committee organized pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:5-2.

  • Local board means the local board of social services representing one or more counties or cities.

  • Assistant Commissioner means the Assistant Commissioner of HPD responsible for administration of this Contract or an authorized representative designated in writing by the Assistant Commissioner.

  • Local agency means a city, county, or city and county, whether general law or chartered.

  • Ombudsperson means the Ombudsperson of British Columbia;

  • the Agency means the Environment Agency;

  • public telecommunications network means the public telecommunications infrastructure which enables signals to be conveyed between defined network termination points by wire, by microwave, by optical means or by other electromagnetic means;

  • public telecommunications service means the transmission by electromagnetic or other means, other than by a telephone company as defined in section 4927.01 of the Revised Code, of signs, signals, writings, images, sounds, messages, or data originating in this state regardless of actual call routing. "Public telecommunications service" excludes a system, including its construction, maintenance, or operation, for the provision of telecommunications service, or any portion of such service, by any entity for the sole and exclusive use of that entity, its parent, a subsidiary, or an affiliated entity, and not for resale, directly or indirectly; the provision of terminal equipment used to originate telecommunications service; broadcast transmission by radio, television, or satellite broadcast stations regulated by the federal government; or cable television service.

  • Supervisory Authority means an independent public authority which is established by an EU Member State pursuant to the GDPR.
