Joint Health and Safety Committee definition

Joint Health and Safety Committee or "JHSC" means an occupational health and safety committee as per WorkSafeBC requirements.
Joint Health and Safety Committee means a committee of Employee and supervisory representatives who are mutually committed to improving health and safety conditions in the workplace. Committees meet on a regular basis to identify potential health and safety issues and bring them to the employer’s attention, and conduct workplace inspections monthly.
Joint Health and Safety Committee means the University committee established to fulfill the responsibilities of a committee, as defined under the Act.

  • Health and Human Services Commission or “HHSC” means the administrative agency established under Chapter 531, Texas Government Code, or its designee.

  • Occupational Safety and Health Law means any Legal Requirement designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions and to reduce occupational safety and health hazards, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and any program, whether governmental or private (such as those promulgated or sponsored by industry associations and insurance companies), designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions.

  • Biological safety cabinet means a containment unit suitable for the preparation of low to moderate risk agents where there is a need for protection of the product, personnel, and environment, according to National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Standard 49.

  • Imminent danger to the health and safety of the public means the existence of any condition or practice, or any violation of a permit or other requirement of this chapter in a surface coal mining and reclamation operation, which condition, practice, or violation could reasonably be expected to cause substantial physical harm to persons outside the permit area before such condition, practice, or violation can be abated. A reasonable expectation of death or serious injury before abatement exists if a rational person, subjected to the same conditions or practices giving rise to the peril, would not expose the person's self to the danger during the time necessary for abatement.

  • Ontario Health means the corporation without share capital under the name Ontario Health as continued under the CCA;
