Internal Suspension definition

Internal Suspension means that a pupil will not attend lessons for a period of time (normally between one day and a week) and will be given academic work to do under adult supervision within the school for that period.
Internal Suspension. In exceptional circumstances an internal suspension may occur. The student will work in a supervised area and have supervised breaks at alternative times to other students. This occurs in consultation with school leadership. A Behaviour/Learning Support Plan and meeting between all relevant parties will occur.  Suspension: Suspension occurs when: o The right of other members of the school community to learn and be safe needs to be protected. o Violence has occurred. o The right of the teacher to teach needs to be protected. o A student’s behaviour is unacceptable within the school community. The student is required to stay at home for a number of days (1 to 5) as determined by the school. A Behaviour/Learning Support Plan is negotiated on re-entry where commitment is requird from the student and parents/caregivers to positively improve the student’s behaviour and learning outcomes.  Exclusion o Exclusion will be used if the Leadership team believes the student’s behaviour is severe or frequent enough or that other school members are at ongoing risk. This is done in consultation with DfE Regional Office support staff.
Internal Suspension means requiring a pupil to attend at School but suspending such pupil from attendance in normal classes or participating in normal breaks.

Examples of Internal Suspension in a sentence

  • If contact with the parent cannot be made, or clothing made available students will be placed in the Internal Suspension room for the remainder of the school day.

  • Failure to attend Internal Suspension for any reason, other than documented medical situations, will result in the automatic issue of a Disciplinary Referral, with the corresponding Corrective Action.

More Definitions of Internal Suspension

Internal Suspension means the suspension of a Student from his or her attendance of some or all classes, participating in breaks or attending and participating in any school related activities. During the period of an Internal Suspension, the Student will perform all School work under supervision in a designated School office or other suitable area;

  • Demand Suspension shall have the meaning set forth in Section 3.1.6.

  • Provisional Suspension means the Athlete or other Person is barred temporarily from participating in any Competition or activity prior to the final decision at a hearing conducted under Article 8;
