Infectious substances definition

Infectious substances means substances which are known or are reasonably* expected to contain pathogens. Pathogens are defined as micro-organisms * (including bacteria, viruses, rickettsia, parasites and fungi) or recombinant * micro-organisms (hybrid or mutant) that are known or are reasonably expected * to cause infectious diseases in animals or humans. *
Infectious substances means substances that are classified under Division 6.2 of the Technical Instructions. The definition and classification of such substances are also available in the above-mentioned ICAO AC 102-37.

As used in this Contract: “Release” means spilling, leaking, pumping, pouring, emitting, emptying, discharging, injecting, escaping, leaching, dumping or disposing.

  • Hazardous Substance Activity means any activity, event, or occurrence involving a Hazardous Substance, including, without limitation, the manufacture, possession, presence, use, generation, transportation, treatment, storage, disposal, Release, threatened Release, abatement, removal, remediation, handling of or corrective or response action to any Hazardous Substance.
