Human Subjects definition

Human Subjects means individuals whose physiologic or behavioral characteristics and responses are the objects of study in a research project. Under the Federal regulations for the protection of human subjects, human subjects are defined as living individuals about whom an investigator conducting research obtains: (1) data through intervention or interaction with the individual; or (2) identifiable private information (45 CFR 46.102(f)).

Examples of Human Subjects in a sentence

  • The initiator of the clinical trial will act as Sponsor (“Verrichter“ in the terms of the Dutch Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act (Wet Medisch-wetenschappelijk Onderzoek met Mensen or WMO) of the clinical trial.

Human Subjects or “Subjects” means any present or former clients or employees of the Cabinet, or any participants in research activities or studies that must be submitted for review and approval by the Board pursuant to 920 KAR 1:060, Section 3(1).

  • Home health aide means an individual employed by a home health agency to provide home health services under the direction of a registered nurse or therapist.

  • Health and Safety Plan means a documented plan which addresses hazards identified and includes safe work procedures to mitigate, reduce or control the hazards identified;

  • Chemical dependency means the physiological and psychological addiction to a controlled drug or substance, or to alcohol. Dependence upon tobacco, nicotine, caffeine or eating disorders are not included in this definition.
