If a holiday is observed on an employee’s scheduled day off or during his/her vacation, he/she shall be paid for the unworked holiday. If an employee works on any of the holidays listed, he/she shall be paid at the rate of time and one- half (1-1/2) in addition to the holiday pay. * One floating holiday takes the place of the paid day off on an employee’s birthday as provided in the 2009-2010 contract. * An additional annual floating holiday may be taken by each bargaining unit member for the life of the 2021-2023 2024-2026 contract with the respective Department Head’s approval, so long as it does not create additional over time for the department.
