Health Condition Requiring Treatment or Supervision definition

Health Condition Requiring Treatment or Supervision means a) any medical condition requiring treatment or medication that the child cannot self-administer; b) any medical or mental health condition which would endanger the child’s safety or recovery without the presence of a parent or guardian; or c) any condition warranting treatment or preventive health care such as physical, dental, optical or immunization services, when a parent must be present to authorize and when sick leave may otherwise be used for the employee’s preventative health care.

  • Emergency medical condition means a medical condition manifesting itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) so that a prudent layperson, who possesses an average knowledge of health and medicine, could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in a condition described in clause (i), (ii), or (iii) of section 1867(e)(1)(A) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395dd(e)(1)(A)).
