Hazardous Substances or Wastes. Any toxic substance, hazardous substance, contaminant, waste, pollutant or other similar product or substance that may pose a threat to the environment or human health safety, as defined in Environmental Laws.
Hazardous Substances or Wastes includes but is not limited to any and all substances (whether solid, liquid or gas) defined, listed, or otherwise classified as pollutants, hazardous wastes, hazardous substances, hazardous materials, extremely hazardous wastes, toxic mold, or words of similar meaning or regulatory effect under any present or future Environmental Laws or that are regulated by law because of adverse impact on human health or the environment including, but not limited to, petroleum and petroleum products, asbestos and asbestos-containing materials, polychlorinated biphenyls, lead, radon, radioactive materials, flammables, explosives and toxic mold.
Hazardous Substances or Wastes as used herein means any material, waste or other substance, whether solid, liquid or gaseous, which is defined as a hazardous substance, hazardous waste, toxic substance or toxic waste in any Environmental Laws.

Examples of Hazardous Substances or Wastes in a sentence

  • The Subcontractor and its representatives shall cooperate with NW P or its designee regarding such pre-existing Hazardous Substance(s) or Waste(s) and make available its records and personnel with respect thereto.

More Definitions of Hazardous Substances or Wastes

Hazardous Substances or Wastes hazardous substances" as defined in the Spill Act or "hazardous substances" or "hazardous wastes" as such terms are defined in N.J.A.C. 7:1-3.3, other than petroleum products.
Hazardous Substances or Wastes means any substance identified as a hazardous substance or waste in the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (commonly known as "CERCLA"), as amended, the Superfund Amendment and Reauthorization Act (commonly known as "SARA"), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (commonly known ax "XCRA") or any applicable similar federal or state legislation regulating hazardous or dangerous materials and substances.
Hazardous Substances or Wastes means any substance that (i) is or contains asbestos, urea formaldehyde foam insulation, polychlorinated biphenyls, petroleum or petroleum-derived substances or wastes, radon gas or related materials, (ii) requires investigation, removal or remediation under any Environmental Law, or is defined, listed or identified as a "hazardous waste" or "hazardous substance" thereunder, or (iii) is toxic, explosive, corrosive, flammable, infectious, radioactive, carcinogenic, mutagenic, or otherwise hazardous and is regulated by any Governmental Authority or Environmental Law.

Related to Hazardous Substances or Wastes

  • Hazardous Substances means any hazardous or toxic material, substance or waste, pollutant, contaminant or solid waste as defined under applicable Environmental Laws, including petroleum, petroleum products, asbestos, polychlorinated biphenyls and radioactive materials.

  • Hazardous Substance means any substance that is: (i) listed, classified or regulated pursuant to any Environmental Law; (ii) any petroleum product or by-product, asbestos-containing material, lead-containing paint or plumbing, polychlorinated biphenyls, radioactive materials or radon; or (iii) any other substance which is the subject of regulatory action by any Governmental Entity pursuant to any Environmental Law.

  • Hazardous Materials does not include products or materials that are commonly used in construction or industrial practice so long as they are used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions or Material Safety Data Sheets issued for the product or materials. (See Article 1.6.3 below.)

As used in this Contract: “Release” means spilling, leaking, pumping, pouring, emitting, emptying, discharging, injecting, escaping, leaching, dumping or disposing.
