Harmonic distortion definition

Harmonic distortion means the mathematical represen- tation of the distortion of the pure sine waveform. Distortion of the pure sine waveform is typically caused by loads that draw current discontinuously or whose impedance varies during the cycle of the input ac voltage waveform.
