Forced Outage definition

Forced Outage means any unplanned reduction or suspension of the electrical output from the Facility resulting in the unavailability of the Facility, in whole or in part, in response to a mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic control system trip or operator-initiated trip in response to an alarm or equipment malfunction and any other unavailability of the Facility for operation, in whole or in part, for maintenance or repair that is not a scheduled maintenance outage and not the result of Force Majeure.

Forced Outage has the meaning set forth in the CAISO Tariff.

Forced Outage means any unplanned reduction or suspension of the electrical output from the Project or unavailability of the Product in whole or in part from a Unit in response to any control system trip or operator-initiated trip in response to an alarm or equipment malfunction; or any other unavailability of the Project or a Unit for operation, in whole or in part, for maintenance or repair that is not a Planned Outage and not the result of Force Majeure.

Examples of Forced Outage in a sentence

• Owner shall keep CAISO informed of any developments that will affect either the duration of the Forced Outage or the Availability of the Unit during or after the end of the Forced Outage.

• In the event of a Forced Outage that is anticipated to last for more than ten (10) days, in addition to any other notification obligation arising under the ISO Tariffs and Procedures, Owner shall promptly notify the ISO, in accordance with the Outage Scheduling Manual, in writing that a Forced Outage has occurred and estimate its duration (a “Notice of Forced Outage”).

• If a Force Majeure event results in a Forced Outage then Sections 7.2.1. through 7.2.9 of this Agreement shall apply.

• Owner shall be entitled to take the RMR Generator out of operation or reduce the net capability of the RMR Generator upon the occurrence of a Forced Outage.

• A Generator that has permanently ceased operating on or after May 1, 2015 either: i) pursuant to applicable notice; or ii) as a result of the expiration of its Mothball Outage or its ICAP Ineligible Forced Outage.

More Definitions of Forced Outage

Forced Outage means a reduction in Availability of a Unit for which sufficient notice is not given to allow the outage to be factored into CAISO’s day-ahead or hour-head scheduling process.

Forced Outage means NERC Event Types U1, U2 and U3, as set forth in attached Exhibit B, and specifically excludes any Maintenance Outage or Planned Outage.
