Food and agricultural sciences means basic, applied, and develop- mental research, extension, and teach- ing activities in the food, agricultural, renewable natural resources, forestry, and physical and social sciences, in the broadest sense of these terms, includ- ing but not limited to, activities con- cerned with the production, processing, marketing, distribution, conservation, consumption, research, and develop- ment of food and agriculturally related products and services, and inclusive of programs in agriculture, natural re- sources, aquaculture, forestry, veteri- nary medicine, home economics, rural development, and closely allied dis- ciplines.

  • American Indian means those persons for whom services may be provided as an Indian pursuant to 25 USC 1603(13), 1603(28), or 1679(a), or 42 CFR § 136.12.

  • Food and food ingredients means substances, whether in liquid, concentrated, solid, frozen, dried, or dehydrated form, that are sold for ingestion or chewing by humans and are consumed for their taste or nutritional value. Food and food ingredients do not include alcoholic beverages and tobacco.

  • Food means a raw, cooked, or processed edible substance, ice, beverage, or ingredient used or intended for use or for sale in whole or in part for human consumption, or chewing gum.
