Floating License definition

Floating License means a multi-purpose development license allowing use of the Software (i) by Licensed Developers and (ii) in or on Build Servers. The Floating License can “float” between Licensed Developers (a Floating Developer License) and a Build Server (a Floating Build Server License), provided each Floating License is tied to either a single Licensed Developer or a single Build on a Build Server at any given time.
Floating License means the licensing approach in which a limited number of licenses for a Software are shared among a larger number of Users over time. When an authorized user wishes to run the Software, they request a license from a central License Server. If a license is available, the License Server allows the Software to be executed. When a User finishes using the Software, or when the allowed license term expires, the license is reclaimed by the License Server and made available to other authorized Users.
Floating License means a license under which the Software may be accessed through more than one computer but never through more than one computer at the same time.

Examples of Floating License in a sentence

  • Under the terms of a Floating License for the Software, End User may install the Software on an unlimited number of computers.
