Field experience definition

Field experience means a sequence of learning experiences which occur in actual school settings or clinical or laboratory settings. Such learning experiences are related to specific program outcomes and are designed to integrate educational theory, knowledge, and skills in actual practice under the direction of a qualified supervisor.
Field experience means scheduled, directed, structured, supervised, frequent experiences in a PreK-12 setting that occurs prior to the capstone experience. Field experiences must assist educator candidates in developing the knowl- edge, skills, and dispositions necessary to ensure all stu- dents learn, and provide evidence in meeting standards described in the Board approved professional teaching standards or professional administrative standards, and relevant Board approved academic standards.
Field experience means a student learning experience comprised primarily of the practical application of previously studied theories and skills, under the oversight of a supervisor, mentor, faculty member or other qualified professional, located in the host state, who has direct or indirect reporting responsibility to the institution where the student is enrolled whether or not credit is granted. The field experience is part of a program of study offered by the enrolling institution. Examples include practica, student teaching, clinical placements or internships.
