Family Training definition

Family Training means the training services described in OAR 411- 300-0150 that are provided to a family to increase the capacity of the family to care for, support, and maintain a child in the family home.

Family Training means training and counseling services for the family of an individual that increase the family's capacity to care for, support, and maintain the individual in the home. Family training includes:

• Approved Nursing Agency The OA approved nursing agencies listed in Appendix C as Provider Types for waiver services, Respite, Nurse Training and Family Training, are the same as those approved to provide in home shift nursing to eligible participants in the waiver.

More Definitions of Family Training

Family Training means the ancillary service that provides for the training services available to the family of an individual to increase the capacity of the family to care for, support, and maintain the individual in the home of the individual. Family training is available through a 1915(c) waiver.

This service includes: instruction about treatment regimens and use of equipment specified in the Individual Support Plan; information, education and training about the individual’s disability, medical, and behavioral conditions; and counseling for the family to relieve the stress associated with caring for an individual with disabilities. This service is provided by licensed psychologists, professionals licensed to practice medicine, social workers, counselors, or in organized conferences and workshops that are limited to topics related to the individual’s disability, identified support needs, or specialized medical or habilitative support needs. The training is not provided to paid caregivers.
