Extended Leaves definition

Extended Leaves. Leaves under this category will be extended in length and may involve the absence of a Unit Member for the major portion of a semester and up to one school year in length. During the terms of an extended leave, the Unit Member is not considered to be an active employee of the District and all benefits available to Unit Members within this Agreement shall be frozen for the period of the extended leave. The Unit Member may elect to continue health insurance in the group policy, providing all costs for insurance during such leave are prepaid by the Unit Member.

Examples of Extended Leaves in a sentence

  • Extended Leaves of Absence: As applicable, staff members employed during the 2015-16 school year will be “grandfathered” under the terms of the previous language.

  • For Members granted an Extended Leave immediately following a Statutory Leave, all terms and conditions of Extended Leaves shall apply.

  • Any employee returning from an extended leave of absence will retain full salary placement credit as defined in Article VIII – Extended Leaves of Absence A7.

  • Such leaves are subject to the provisions of the Board policy on Extended Leaves.

  • An employee whose seniority has not been terminated in accordance with paragraph 75 shall retain, but not accrue, seniority while on a leave of absence of three (3) months or more (except as outlined in Article XXI – Extended Leaves), as long as the employee complies with the conditions of the leave.

  • The probationary period shall not include any unpaid leave as described in Article XXI (Extended Leaves).

  • Extended Leaves of Absence Provision has been made by the Board of Education for absence from duty of professional employees as follows: Extended Leave Health Leave Association Business Leave Parental Leave Military Leave Foreign Travel or Teaching - Academic Study Personal All requests for extended leaves of absence will be applied for and those approved shall be granted in writing.

  • Time Employment Employees who are continuously employed, but whose employment is for fewer hours daily or for fewer days per week than would be required for full-time employment, shall be entitled to prorated leave of absence benefits as described in Part One, Article IX (Sick Leave), Article X (Temporary Leaves of Absence), and Article XI (Extended Leaves of Absence).

  • Extended Leaves of Absence Leaves of absence for circumstances that do not qualify under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) may be granted as specified below.

  • For non-tenured teachers, such leave Article XVIII: Extended Leaves of Absence shall be an interruption of the probationary period and not in lieu of service in meeting the requirements for serving a probationary period.

Related to Extended Leaves

  • Reduced leave schedule means a leave schedule that reduces the usual number of hours per workweek, or hours per workday, of an employee.

  • Extended Term shall have the meaning given such term in Section 2.4.

  • Extended benefit period means a period which:

  • main phase employment and support allowance means an employment and support allowance where the calculation of the amount payable in respect of the applicant includes a component under section 2(1)(b) or 4(2)(b) of the Welfare Reform Act 2007 except in Part 1 of Schedule 1;

  • Paid leave means time away from work by an employee for which the employee receives compensation, and is limited to sick time, vacation time, compensatory time and leave that is provided as an aggregate amount for use at the discretion of the employee for any of these same purposes. "Paid leave" does not include paid short-term or long-term disability, catastrophic leave or similar types of benefits.[PL 2005, c. 455, §1 (NEW).]

  • Extended Period As defined in Section 9.04(b).

  • Extended benefits means benefits, including benefits payable to federal civilian employees and to ex-servicemen under 5 U.S.C. Chapter 85, payable to an individual under the provisions of this section for weeks of unemployment in his eligibility period.

  • Annual leave and Clause 6.3 “Personal (Sick) Leave” of this Agreement.

  • Pregnancy Leave means leave taken for purposes related to giving birth and/or recovering therefrom.

  • Paid sick leave – means paid leave under the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act.

  • Tenant Delays means delays caused by: (i) requirements of the Plans and Specifications requested by Tenant that do not conform to Landlord’s building standards for office and lab build-out, or which contain long lead-time or non-standard items requested by Tenant; provided that Landlord has notified Tenant of such deviations upon execution of this Lease (ii) any material change in the Plans and Specifications requested by Tenant and agreed to by Landlord; (iii) any request by Tenant for a delay in the commencement or completion of the Initial Tenant Improvements for any reason; (iv) Tenant delay in finalizing and approving the design of the vivarium and value engineering of same or (v) any other act or omission of Tenant or its employees, agents or contractors which reasonably inhibits the Landlord from timely completing the Initial Tenant Improvements including, without limitation any delays caused by Tenant’s presence in the Premises prior to the Term Commencement Date. The Premises shall not be deemed to be incomplete if only minor or insubstantial details of construction, decoration or mechanical adjustments remain to be done which do not unreasonably interfere with Tenant’s occupancy of the Premises. If as a result of Tenant Delays the Premises are deemed ready for Tenant’s occupancy, pursuant to the foregoing (and the term shall have commenced by reason thereof), but the Premises are not in fact actually ready for Tenant’s occupancy, Tenant shall not (except with Landlord’s consent not to be unreasonably withheld, conditioned or delayed) be entitled to take possession of the Premises for the permitted use until the Premises are in fact actually ready for such occupancy.

  • Intermittent Leave means leave taken in separate blocks of time due to a single qualifying reason.

  • Benefit Commencement Date means, for any Participant or beneficiary, the date as of which the first benefit payment, including a single sum, from the Participant’s Account is due, other than pursuant to a withdrawal under Article VIII.

  • Normal Pregnancy or “Childbirth” means a pregnancy or childbirth that is free of complications or problems.

  • disability living allowance means a disability living allowance under section 71 of the SSCBA;

  • Approved Leave of Absence means a leave of absence that has been approved by the applicable Participating Company in such a manner as the Board may determine from time to time.

  • maternity leave means a period during which a woman is absent from work because she is pregnant or has given birth to a child, and at the end of which she has a right to return to work either under the terms of her contract of employment or under Part 8 of the Employment Rights Act 1996;

  • converted employment and support allowance means an employment and support allowance which is not income-related and to which a person is entitled as a result of a conversion decision within the meaning of the Employment and Support Allowance (Existing Awards) Regulations 2008;

  • Employment Commencement Date means the date on which the Employee first performs an Hour of Service.

  • Extended Use Period means the period beginning on the 1st day in the compliance period on which such building is part of a qualified low-income housing project, and ending on the later of the date specified by such agency in such agreement, or the date which is 15 years after the close of the compliance period.

  • Current Sick Leave means those days of sick leave for the current contract year, which leave is granted at the rate of one day of sick leave per month worked, or major part thereof.

  • Force Majeure Delays means any actual delay in the construction of the Tenant Improvements, which is beyond the reasonable control of Landlord or Tenant, as the case may be, as described in Paragraph 33 of the Lease.

  • parental bereavement leave means leave under section 80EA of the Employment Rights Act 1996;

  • Extended Termination Date has the meaning specified in Section 2.16(c).

  • Bereavement Leave means "a leave of absence granted to an employee upon a death occurring in the employee's Immediate Family.”

  • paternity leave means a period of absence from work on leave by virtue of section 80A or 80B of the Employment Rights Act 1996;
