Alternative Teacher Assessment Project (in lieu of formal observation) The teacher shall have completed six years of teaching in Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. The teacher shall have a rating of "Meets Standards" in all areas of assessment for the previous two evaluation cycles. The teacher and principal shall meet and agree upon the nature of the project and upon the timeline for development and completion. The project should contribute towards the teacher's professional development. The project will generally be completed in one year. A teacher may begin preliminary planning the year before. The project shall culminate in: • A product, • A presentation to a group of peer advisors agreed upon by the teacher and principal, and • A summative reflection. There will be interim project reports on or before November 30 and February 15. The project must be complete no later than one month before the last school day. The principal shall certify that the project was completed. Exceeds Standards. Employees whose performance is assessed as Exceeds Standards will be eligible for a performance payment of 2% of base salary. If this increase takes them to the top of the Salary Range for their level, then any residual performance payment will be paid as a bonus. Employees who are already at the top of the Salary Range for their level will receive a bonus of 2% of base salary. Notwithstanding the above provisions, an Employee’s base salary may be increased above the Salary Range for their level at the discretion of the relevant Divisional Director into whom they report.
