Environmentally Sensitive Areas definition

Environmentally Sensitive Areas means an area “in which plant or animal life or their habitats are either rare or especially valuable because of their special nature or role in an ecosystem and which would be easily disturbed or degraded by human activities and developments” (California Public Resources Code § 30107.5). Areas subject to storm water mitigation requirements are : areas designated as an Area of Special Biological Significance (ASBS) by the State Water Resources Control Board, an area designated as a significant natural resource by the California Resources Agency, or an area identified by the Discharger as environmentally sensitive for water quality purposes, based on the Regional Board Basin Plan and Clean Water Act Section 303(d) Impaired Water-bodies List for the County of Ventura.

Environmentally Sensitive Areas means any area deemed to have ecological significance how-so-ever described in Official Plans or Zoning By-laws including, but not limited to, terms such as Environmental Protection Areas and Environmentally Significant Areas;
Environmentally Sensitive Areas means any area deemed to have ecological significance howsoever described in Official Plans or a Zoning By-law including, but not limited to, terms such as Natural Core Area, Natural Linkage Area, Environmental Protection and environmentally significant areas;
Environmentally Sensitive Areas means those areas with especially fragile biophysical characteristics and/or with significant environmental resources as identified by the city or by a scientifically documented inventory accomplished as part of the SEPA/NEPA process or other recognized assessment. Environmentally sensitive areas include, but are not limited to, aquifer recharge areas, wildlife habitat areas, fish breeding, rearing or feeding areas, frequently flooded areas, geologically hazardous areas (e.g., steep, unstable slopes), wetlands (i.e., marshes, bogs, and swamps), streams, tidal lagoons, mud flats, and salt marshes.
Environmentally Sensitive Areas means any area deemed to have ecological natural heritage, and environmental significance how-so-ever described in the County’s Official Plan or the Township’s Zoning By-laws including, but not limited to, terms such as Environmental Protection Zone;
