Employment test definition

Employment test. A drug test given to an applicant or employee who is being considered for a safety-sensitive position. The test is also administered when transferring an employee from a non- safety-sensitive position to a safety-sensitive position. Employers are also required to conduct a pre- employment test when a covered employee or applicant has not performed a safety-sensitive function for 90 consecutive calendar days regardless of the reason, and the employee has not been in the employer’s random selection pool during that time. The applicant or employee must be informed of the purpose for the urine collection prior to actual collection.
Employment test means a standardized method or device for measuring a person’s possession of, interest in, or ability to acquire job skills and knowledge.
Employment test or “test” means an assessment device or technique yielding scores designed to determine the fitness of, and rank candidates in order of fitness for, a given position, position classification, positions or position classifications and shall also include a device or technique utilized pursuant to Section 5-216 (b) of the Connecticut General Statutes.
