EMERGING BUSINESS ENTERPRISE definition

EMERGING BUSINESS ENTERPRISE. (EBE) means a small business concern that is owned, operated and controlled by one or more individuals who are at a disadvantage. The individuals must have day-to-day operational and managerial control and interest in capital, financial risks and earnings commensurate with the percentage of their ownership.

  • Business enterprise means a firm, sole proprietorship, partnership, association, corporation, company, or other business entity of any kind including, but not limited to, a limited liability corporation, incorporated professional association, joint venture, estate, or trust.

  • Women Business Enterprise (WBE) as used in this policy means a business enterprise that meets all of the following criteria:

Part 121, relevant to the scope(s) of work the firm seeks to perform on city contracts. A firm is not an eligible small business enterprise in any city fiscal year in which its gross receipts, averaged over the firm's previous five fiscal years, exceed the size standards of 13 C.F.R. Part 121.

  • Inactive business operations means the mere continued holding or renewal of rights to property previously operated for the purpose of generating revenues but not presently deployed for such purpose.

  • Investment Enterprise means an enterprise to which the Borrower proposes to make or has made an Investment Sub-loan;

  • Microenterprise means an enterprise which employs fewer than 10 persons and whose annual turnover and/or annual balance sheet total does not exceed EUR 2 million;

  • Urban Enterprise Zones means a zone designated by the New Jersey Enterprise Zone Authority pursuant to the New Jersey Urban Enterprise Zones Act, N.J.S.A. 52:27H-60 et. seq.

  • Active business operations means all business operations that are not inactive business operations.
