Emergency medical technician definition

Emergency medical technician means a person who is either an EMT-I, EMT-II, or EMT-P (paramedic), and possesses a valid certificate or license in accordance with the standards of Division 2.5 (commencing with Section 1797) of the Health and Safety Code.
Emergency medical technician or “EMT” means an individual who has successfully completed a course of study based on the United States Department of Transportation’s Emergency Medical Technician Instructional Guidelines (January 2009), has passed the NREMT practical and cognitive examinations for the EMT, and is currently certified by the department as an EMT.
Emergency medical technician means an individual who is certified as an emergency medical technician under Chapter 773, Health and Safety Code; and employed by the county.
