Where a teacher is an Appointed or Elected Member of a Standing Committee or Commission of a Municipal Council or a Library Board, or Conservation Authority of the Region of Waterloo, he/she may be granted, at the discretion of the Director of Education, with or without loss of pay or service credits, leave for the purpose of attending meetings or conferences directly related to her/his election/appointment when she/he has been duly authorized by the governing body as an Official Representative.
