Drain Layer definition

Drain Layer means a Person who is skilled in the planning, superintending and installing of drains both inside and outside buildings, and who alone, or by journeyman, drain layers or plumbers under their supervision, performs drain laying work;

Drain Layer means a person who has been licensed by the Commissioners to do plumbing work and to install sanitary sewers and connections in accordance with Chapter 18 herein.

Drain Layer or "Licensed Drain Layer" shall mean either an individual, partnership or corporation to whom the Bureau of Public Works shall have issued a license as such to install and repair sewers, sewer connections, house connections, etc., during the period when such license is valid as hereinafter provided, and the proper agents and representatives of such drain layer: or shall mean any person, firm or corporation holding a valid license to do such work issued by the State of Connecticut under Public Act #789 (1967), or as the same may be amended, and which work is defined thereby. The term drain layer may also be applied to town and city public works departments, the Connecticut State Highway Department and public utilities, when and in so far as they are engaged in installing, altering and repairing

• No Drain Contractor licensed under this By-law and Schedule shall perform or permit to be performed any drainage work which is not under the direct Personal supervision of a licenced Drain Layer or licenced Master Plumber.

• Every applicant for a Drain Layer licence shall pay an examination fee as set out in Schedule 1 for each examination as required.

• No Person shall be licensed as a Drain Contractor under this By-law and Schedule unless: (1) that Person is licensed as a Drain Layer or Master Plumber or employs at least one licensed Master Plumber or licensed Drain Layer on a regular, full time basis; and (2) proof of General Liability Insurance is provided showing a minimum of$2,000,000.00 coverage, which coverage is endorsed to indemnify The Corporation of the City of Mississauga.

• Every Drain Contractor and Drain Layer licensed under this By-law and Schedule shall:(1) have printed or otherwise displayed on both sides of all vehicles owned, leased or used on a regular basis by the licensee in the course of business, in figures no less than four (4) inches in height, the licensee's name and City Contractor's Number; and(2) have printed or otherwise impressed on all business stationery, forms, bills, statements and advertising materials the licensee's name and City Contractor's Number.

• A Person licensed as a Drain Layer or Drain Contractor under this By-law and Schedule shall not:(1) permit the use of the licensee's name by any other Person, either directly or indirectly, for the purpose of obtaining a permit to do any work as a Drain Layer or Drain Contractor; and(2) perform any work which requires a licence or permit unless a licence or permit is first obtained.

More Definitions of Drain Layer

Drain Layer means a person licensed by the Department of Public Works as a layer of drains.

Drain Layer means a person registered as a drain layer with the Council in terms of regulation 19;

Drain Layer or “Licensed Drain Layer” shall mean a person who possesses a valid license to install and repair sewers, sewer connections, and related appurtenances issued under Chapter 393 of the Connecticut General Statutes as amended. The term drain layer may also be applied to the Town Highway Department, the Connecticut Department of Transportation and private contractors, when and in so far as they are authorized to be engaged in installing, altering and repairing sewers, drains, or connections and appurtenances thereto under permit from the Stafford Water Pollution Control Authority or it’s agents.

Drain Layer means a general term applied to a Person in the business of, and licensed by the Superintendent for laying drains from the existing Sewerage Works to the Building Drain of residential buildings, commercial buildings, industrial buildings, and similar structures and properties and within the Town’s Right-of-Way.

Drain Layer means a person qualified in drain laying or an equivalent qualification as approved by the Board;

Drain Layer or Licensed Drain Layer” shall mean an individual whom the State of Connecticut shall have issued a license to install and repair building drains, building sewers, public sewer laterals, public sewers and individual sanitary sewage disposal systems during the period when such license is valid. The term “Drain Layer” may also be applied to Town employees designated by the Manager and also to State Highway Departments’ employees and employees of the public utilities when they are engaged in installing, altering and repairing sewers, drains, or connections and appurtenance thereto under the permit from the Town Manager.
