Disciplinary Rules definition

Disciplinary Rules are mandatory precepts that specify an unacceptable level of conduct for all peace officers, regardless of their rank or the nature of their assignment. Any peace officer that violates any rule shall be guilty of unprofessional conduct, and shall be subject to disciplinary action. Violation of disciplinary rules requires appropriate adjudication through a continuum of disciplinary action, ranging from oral reprimand to termination and/or criminal prosecution of other administrative action sanctioned by law, as dictated by the individual case.
