Differentiated instruction definition

Differentiated instruction means the process of matching instruction to meet the different needs of students.
Differentiated instruction means to recognize that students have varying background knowledge, readiness, learning styles, interests and abilities in the same class. The model requires teachers to be flexible in their approach to teaching by adjusting the format and presentation of information to learners so that they can access the same curriculum. It requires a blend of whole class, group, and individual instruction.
Differentiated instruction means an instructional framework that allows classroom teachers to blend whole-class, group, and individual instruction to best meet the individual and diverse needs of the students in the classroom. A school district or charter school must determine the scope of the differentiated instruction.
