Dependent children also means natural children, stepchildren, adopted children, children of a domestic partner, children placed for adoption and foster children.

Immediate Family Members means, with respect to any individual, such individual’s child, stepchild, grandchild or more remote descendant, parent, stepparent, grandparent, spouse, former spouse, qualified domestic partner, sibling, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law and daughter-in-law (including adoptive relationships) and any trust, partnership or other bona fide estate-planning vehicle the only beneficiaries of which are any of the foregoing individuals or any private foundation or fund that is controlled by any of the foregoing individuals or any donor-advised fund of which any such individual is the donor.
Eligible Children means named dependent children including adopted and step children of the Insured Person between Ages three (3) years and eighteen (18) years or upto twenty three (23) years if attending as a full time student with an accredited Institution of Higher Learning, who are unmarried, and receive the majority of maintenance and support from the Insured Person.
Descendant of an individual means all of the individual's descendants of all generations, with the relationship of parent and child at each generation being determined by the definition of child and parent contained in this section.
Immediate Family Member means a child, stepchild, grandchild, parent, stepparent, grandparent, spouse, sibling, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law, including adoptive relationships, of a natural person referred to herein.

Disabled Child means Your unmarried adult Child who is, on and after the date on which insurance would end because of the Child’s age, continuously incapable of self-sustaining employment because of mental or physical handicap; and chiefly dependent upon You for support and maintenance, or institutionalized because of mental or physical handicap. Birth family or "birth sibling" means the child's biological family or biological sibling.
Dependent adult means a person 18 years of age or older who is unable to protect the person’s own interests or unable to adequately perform or obtain services necessary to meet essential human needs, as a result of a physical or mental condition which requires assistance from another.

Lineal Descendant means a child, grandchild, great grandchild, etc., and shall include only lineal descendants by and through birth, or by legal adoption of an individual who has not attained age 18. The term shall also include individuals so born or adopted after the date of this Agreement.
