Date of Severance means the date on which a severance occurs. For this purpose a "Severance" occurs when the individual has ceased to be an Employee because of death, termination or Retirement and the individual is not in Alternate Service.

Examples of Date of Severance in a sentence

  • If the Participant does not return to active service with the Employer on or prior to the expiration of his authorized Leave of Absence he will be considered to have had a Date of Severance as of the earlier of the date on which his authorized Leave of Absence expired, the first anniversary of the last date he worked at least one hour as an Active Participant, or the date on which he resigned or was discharged.

  • The Date of Severance is the second anniversary of the date on which the absence begins.

  • Period of Severance - is the time between the actual Date of Severance as defined above and the subsequent date, if any, on which the Employee performs an Hour of Service.

  • In the event a Participant incurs a Date of Severance prior to his becoming eligible for a retirement benefit or deferred vested pension under the Plan, he shall be deemed to receive a distribution equal to the actuarial equivalent value of the entire vested pension earned through his Date of Severance.

  • An Employee shall receive Service for the period of time between his Date of Hire and his Date of Severance, provided that no Service shall be received for the period of continued absence between the first and second anniversary of the date of first absence from work by reason of a Maternity or Paternity Absence.

  • An Employee shall not incur a Date of Severance while he is in the active service of the United States Armed Forces if his reemployment rights are protected by law.

  • For the period commencing on the Date of Severance and ending on the date a Participant attains normal retirement age (determined in the same manner as the determination of whether a Participant has retired), if a Participant’s vested Combined Account balance is $5,000 or less, the Participant will receive a distribution of the value of the entire vested portion of such Combined Account balance and the non-vested portion will be treated as a forfeiture.

Related to Date of Severance

  • Period of Severance means a continuous period of time during which an Employee is not employed by the Employer. Such period begins on the date the Employee retires, quits or is discharged, or if earlier, the twelve (12) month anniversary of the date on which the Employee was otherwise first absent from service.

  • Date of Service means the date on which the client receives medical services or items, unless otherwise specified in the appropriate provider rules. For items that are mailed or shipped by the provider, the date of service is the date on which the order was received, the date on which the item was fabricated, or the date on which the item was mailed or shipped.

  • Severance from Service Date means the earlier of:

  • Severance Pay means any amount that is payable in cash and is identified by a Participating Company as severance pay, or any amount which is payable on account of periods beginning after the last date on which an employee (or former employee) is required to report for work for a Participating Company.

  • Severance Date means the date on which an Eligible Employee incurs a Severance.

  • Severance from Employment means severance from employment with the Employer and any Related Entity. However, a Severance from Employment also occurs on any date on which an Employee ceases to be an employee of a public school, even though the Employee may continue to be employed by a Related Employer that is another unit of the State or local government that is not a public school or in a capacity that is not employment with a public school (e.g., ceasing to be an employee performing services for a public school but continuing to work for the same State or local government employer).

  • Severance Benefit means the payment of severance compensation as provided in Article III.

In no event shall Executive’s Termination Compensation include equity-based compensation (e.g., income realized as a result of Executive’s exercise of non-qualified stock options or other stock based benefits).

  • Severance Period means the period of time commencing on the date of an occurrence of a Change of Control and continuing until the earlier of (i) the date which is one and one-half years following the occurrence of the Change of Control, and (ii) the Executive's death.

  • Leave Salary means the monthly amount paid by the University to an employee who is on leave.

  • Total Compensation means the cash and noncash dollar value earned by the executive during the Subcontractor’s preceding fiscal year and includes the following (for more information see 17 CFR 229.402(c)(2)):

  • Severance Payment means any amount paid by a board to or in behalf of a superintendent on early termination of the superinten- dent’s contract that exceeds the amount earned by the superinten- dent under the contract as of the date of termination, including any amount that exceeds the amount of earned standard salary and benefits that is paid as a condition of early termination of the con- tract. Payments to a former superintendent who remains employed by a district in another capacity or contracts with a district to pro- vide the district services may be severance payments in whole or in part if the payments are compensation for the early termination of a prior employment agreement.   • Retention Bonus means the amount equal to:

  • Normal Retirement Benefit means an annual benefit equal to One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars and No/100 ($150,000.00) per year, payable in accordance with the terms of this Agreement. Beginning on the thirteenth month that the Normal Retirement Benefit is paid, and continuing thereafter until paid in full, the Normal Retirement Benefit shall be increased annually by three percent (3%) from the previous year’s Normal Retirement Benefit amount to account for cost of living increases.

  • Disability Retirement Date means the first day of the month following the last day of paid employment;

  • Retirement Benefit means the benefit set forth in Article 5.

  • Qualifying Retirement means the Employee’s voluntary termination of employment after the Employee has (i) attained (X) age sixty-five (65), (Y) age fifty-five (55) with ten (10) Years of Service as a full-time employee of the Partnership or any of its Affiliates, or (Z) an age which, when added to such Years of Service of the Employee equals at least seventy-five (75), and (ii) previously delivered a written notice of retirement to the Partnership and on the date of retirement the Employee has satisfied the minimum applicable advance written notice requirement set forth below: Age at Voluntary Termination Number of Years of Advance Notice 58 or younger 59 60 or older 3 years 2 years 1 year By way of illustration, and without limiting the foregoing, if (i) the Employee is eligible to retire at age fifty-nine (59) after ten (10) Years of Service, (ii) the Employee gives two (2) years notice at age fifty-eight (58) that the Employee intends to retire at age sixty (60), and (iii) the Employee later terminates employment at age fifty-nine (59), then the Employee’s retirement at age fifty-nine (59) would not constitute a Qualifying Retirement. However, if (i) the Employee is eligible to retire at age fifty-nine (59) after ten (10) Years of Service, (ii) the Employee gives two (2) years notice at age fifty-eight (58) that the Employee intends to retire at age sixty (60), and (iii) the Employee terminates employment upon reaching age sixty (60), then the Employee’s retirement at age sixty (60) would constitute a Qualifying Retirement.
