Curb Box definition

Curb Box means a housing used for the purpose of access and protecting a Curb Stop.
Curb Box means a round pipe like housing over the valve extending to the surface of the ground for access to the valve.

  • If the Curb Box or Curb Stop is damaged by the Customer and/or Property Owner, or the Curb Box or Curb Stop is covered so as to preclude or interfere with access, the Customer or property Owner, as applicable, is responsible for the cost of the Authority's work in uncovering, repairing, or replacing the Curb Stop and/or Curb Box, and for the cost of restoring adjacent landscaping, sidewalks, or other property affected by the work.

Curb Box means a vertical cast-iron sleeve, housing the curb stop (shut-off valve) for property’s water and/or sewer service line.
