Criteria for Promotion. 24.04.01 For evaluating each application for promotion, the following general criteria shall apply:

Criteria for Promotion i. Demonstrated excellence in teaching as determined through a substantive review of the faculty member’s cumulative performance conducted by the program faculty and xxxx. In the event that an application for promotion is received, and part-time performance reviews have not been completed in accordance with Article 24, the xxxx shall ensure that a part-time performance review is completed within the same quarter as the application for promotion was received ii. Satisfactory completion of the professional development obligations that will be jointly developed by the parties no later than January 31, 2015.
Criteria for Promotion. (a) A promotion is defined as a change in rank as a librarian from one rank to the next higher rank.

(a) Promotions, recommendations and decisions shall be based upon applicants' contributions to their discipline, Department, Faculty and University within the current rank, except for promotion to Professor or Professional Associate IV, where the applicant's entire professional career shall be reviewed.

Criteria for Promotion. Promotion is not automatic. Promotion is based on merit as well as years of experience. Promotion is the recognition that a faculty member not only meets the minimum standards for higher rank as defined in Article 14.3 herein but has also demonstrated significant achievements in the areas of professional competence, professional recognition, and professional service consistent with those guidelines described in Article 15. Once promoted, individuals are expected to continue to advance professionally.
