Creating local entity means the local entity that creates or created the local building authority.

  • Local entity means any city, county, city and county, or joint powers authority within the state within whose jurisdiction a State Video Franchise Holder may provide Video Service.6

For purposes of this definition, any Person which owns directly or indirectly an equity investment in another Person which allows the first Person to manage or elect managers who manage the normal activities of such second Person will be deemed to "control" such second Person (e.g. a sole general partner controls a limited partnership).

  • Non-federal entity means a state, local government, Indian tribe, institution of higher education, or nonprofit organization that carries out a federal award as a recipient or subrecipient.

  • Tribal Entity means a federally-recognized tribal entity performing tribal governmental functions and eligible for funding and services from the U.S. Department of Interior by virtue of its status as an Indian tribe.

  • Single Asset Entity means a Person (other than an individual) that (a) only owns a single Property and/or cash and other assets of nominal value incidental to such Person’s ownership of such Property; (b) is engaged only in the business of owning, developing and/or leasing such Property; and (c) receives substantially all of its gross revenues from such Property. In addition, if the assets of a Person consist solely of (i) Equity Interests in one or more other Single Asset Entities and (ii) cash and other assets of nominal value incidental to such Person’s ownership of the other Single Asset Entities, such Person shall also be deemed to be a Single Asset Entity for purposes of this Agreement (such an entity, a “Single Asset Holding Company”).

  • Originating LEA An LEA who originally executes the DPA in its entirety with the Provider. Provider: For purposes of the DPA, the term “Provider” means provider of digital educational software or services, including cloud-based services, for the digital storage, management, and retrieval of Student Data. Within the DPA the term “Provider” includes the term “Third Party” and the term “Operator” as used in applicable state statutes. Student Generated Content: The term “student-generated content” means materials or content created by a student in the services including, but not limited to, essays, research reports, portfolios, creative writing, music or other audio files, photographs, videos, and account information that enables ongoing ownership of student content.
