Construction Superintendent. A representative of the contractor responsible for overseeing performance of the required construction work. This individual must engage in sound construction practices, and is responsible to maintain a safe work site. In the case of a project involving the demolition, alteration or new construction of buildings, the Construction Superintendent must be licensed by the NYC Department of Buildings. Contractor: For purposes of these Safety Requirements, the term “Contractor” shall mean any person or entity that enters into a contract for the performance of construction work on a DDC project. The term “Contractor” shall include any person or entity which enters into any of the following types of contracts: (1) a prime construction contract for a specific project, (2) a prime construction contract using the Job Order Contracting System (“JOCS Contract”), and (3) a subcontract with a CM/Builder (“First Tier Subcontract”).
Construction Superintendent means the individual who is a representative of the Contractor, and who shall be responsible for continuous field supervision, coordination, and completion of the Work, and who shall maintain a full-time on-site, physical presence at the Project Site and satisfy the obligations of Construction Superintendent as provided in the Contract Documents.
Construction Superintendent has the meaning specified in subsection 3.17(B) (Construction Superintendent).
