CONFLICT PUBLIC DEFENDER definition

CONFLICT PUBLIC DEFENDER means the attorney contracted with Lander County to provide conflict defense of indigent defendants. The conflict public defender should be appointed any time the public defender is required to withdraw from the case or has a conflict of interest that prevents the appointment of the public defender. The attorney may be a first or second tier appointment. The selection of Conflict Public Defender to the position of Conflict Public Defender shall require that the attorney meet the standards set forth by DIDS.
