Compensation for Work on Holidays. 1. An employee who is required to work on Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx.'s Birthday, Xxxxxxx's Birthday or Washington's Birthday and who meets the eligibility requirements contained herein shall receive his or her regular pay for each hour worked. Work performed on a holiday which is overtime as defined in Article I, Section 1.A., shall be compensated as provided in Article I, Section 2.C.1.

Compensation for Work on Holidays. 1. If an employee is required to work on a day being observed as an Agency holiday, the employee shall be paid overtime compensation at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the employee's regular rate of pay plus the amount provided for in this article for holiday pay. As an example, a regular full-time employee required to work on a holiday would be paid a total of two and one-half (2-1/2) times the employee's regular rate of pay.

An employee who is required to work on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, or Thanksgiving Day shall receive pay computed at one and one-half (1 ½) times the employee's basic hourly rate for the number of hours actually worked, to a maximum of eight (8) hours. An employee who is required to work on a holiday and who meets the eligibility requirements contained herein shall receive in addition to pay as provided in D.1. or 2. of this Section compensatory time for each hour worked to a maximum of eight (8) hours. Holidays which fall during an employee's vacation period shall not be charged against the employee's vacation balance. Full-time employees who are on a pay status during the pay period which includes March 1 each fiscal year during the term of this Memorandum of Understanding, shall be credited with two (2) hours of compensatory time at the end of the pay period which includes that date. Part-time employees whose regularly assigned work schedule is at least twenty (20) hours per week shall, in like manner, earn and be credited with one (1) hour of compensatory time. Compensatory time earned under the provisions of this Section may be granted as compensatory time off or paid for at the discretion of the County. Employees shall be paid for all compensatory time in excess of eighty (80) hours.
Compensation for Work on Holidays. Employees who are required or authorized to work on an Agency holiday shall be compensated, either with comp time or overtime pay, at the rate of one and one‐half (1 ½) times for each hour worked. In addition, employees will be paid eight (8) hours of holiday time for the Agency observed holiday; employees will need to supplement the 8 hours of holiday time with an appropriate amount of accrued leave hours (i.e., vacation, holiday, or comp time) to comply with the required 80‐hour pay period.
