Class I substance definition

Class I substance. , as used in this clause, means any substance designated as class I by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)(40 CFR Part 82), including but not limited to chlorofluorocarbons, halons, carbon tetrachloride, and methyl chloroform.

Class I substance and "class II substance" means those
Class I substance means any ozone-depleting compound defined in the Clean Air Act, as amended, 42 U.S.C. §section 7671(3) (effective November 15, 1990).

The contractor shall comply with the applicable requirements of Sections 608 and 609 of the Clean Air Act (42 USC 7671g, National Recycling and Emission Reduction Program and 7671h, Servicing of Motor Vehicle Air Conditioners) as each or all apply to the contract.
