Civil fines definition

Civil fines means any monetary penalty, imposed by competent judicial or executive authority, on a person for violation of city ordinances, rules, or regulations.

  • Civil fines and penaltieswhich are in respect of civil, administrative or regulatory money penalties against any insured for any violations of any law, regulation or statute unless:a) such violations are not knowing, wilful or criminal; andb) such penalties are insurable under the internal laws of the jurisdiction in which such penalties were assessed or levied3.

  • Civil fines up to $10,000.00 or an amount equal to the daily gross receipts, whichever is greater, against a licensee for each violation of the act, these rules, or an order.

  • Civil fines collected under this Section shall be deposited in a fund designated specifically for the use of the Commissioner in implementation of the County Program.

  • Civil fines and penalties imposed pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act) or the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (“PPACA”); 5.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Act means the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act No 85 of 1993);

  • Health and Safety Laws means any Laws pertaining to safety and health in the workplace, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 29 U.S.C. 651 et seq. (“OSHA”), and the Toxic Substances Control Act, 15 U.S.C. 2601, et seq. (“TSCA”).

  • Health and Safety means, in relation to a recipient or a third person, the prevention of death or serious personal injury,

  • civil partner in relation to a person, means a civil partner within the meaning of the Civil Partnership and Certain Rights and Obligations of Cohabitants Act 2010, but does not include a civil partner who is living separately and apart from the person;

  • Labor law decision means an administrative merits determination, arbitral award or decision, or civil judgment, which resulted from a violation of one or more of the laws listed in the definition of “labor laws”.

  • Department of Health and Human Services means the Department of Health and Human Services

  • Civil Aeronautical Product means any civil aircraft, aircraft engine, or propeller or subassembly, appliance, material, part, or component to be installed thereon.

  • Health and Human Services Commission or “HHSC” means the administrative agency established under Chapter 531, Texas Government Code, or its designee.

  • civil proceedings means any proceedings in or before any court or tribunal that are not criminal proceedings;

  • Cosmetology means any one and/or combination of practices generally and usually performed by and known as the occupation of beauty culturalist, cosmeticians, cosmetologists or hairdressers or any person holding him or herself out as practicing cosmetology in or upon a place or premises. Cosmetology shall include, but otherwise not be limited to, the following: embellishing, arranging, dressing, curling, waving, cleansing, beautifying, cutting, singeing, bleaching, coloring, or similar work upon the hair of any person by any means and with hands or mechanical or electrical apparatuses, devices or appliances or by use of cosmetic preparations, antiseptics, tonics, lotions, creams or otherwise, massaging, cleansing, stimulating, manipulating, exercising, beautifying or similar work, the scalp, face, neck, arms, hands, bust or upper part of the body, or manicuring, pedicuring or sculpting the nails of any person.

  • Health and Human Services or “HHS” includes HHSC and DSHS.

  • Biological safety cabinet means a containment unit suitable for the preparation of low to moderate risk agents where there is a need for protection of the product, personnel, and environment, according to National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Standard 49.

  • Plagiarism means to take and present as one's own a material portion of the ideas or words of another or to present as one's own an idea or work derived from an existing source without full and proper credit to the source of the ideas, words, or works. Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • health and safety file means a file, or other record containing the information in writing required by these Regulations "health and safety plan" means a site, activity or project specific documented plan in accordance with the client's health and safety specification;

  • health and safety specification means a site, activity or project specific document prepared by the client pertaining to all health and safety requirements related to construction work;
