Christmas or New Year's Day Off. The Employer agrees to make every reasonable effort to ensure that employees required to work shift shall have at least Christmas Day or the following New Year's Day off.
Christmas or New Year's Day Off. (i) Each Employee shall receive either Christmas Day or New Year’s Day off, unless otherwise mutually agreed. In addition, the Employer will make every reasonable effort to schedule an Employee in such a manner that they do not work the same holiday (Christmas Day or New Year’s Day) that they worked the previous year, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Subject to operational requirements, Employees who have Christmas Day or New Year’s Day scheduled off may also have December 24th or December 31st respectively scheduled off.

Paid Holiday Pay Payment for paid holidays will be made at an employee's basic pay, except if an employee has been working in a higher paid position than their regular position for a majority of the 60 workdays preceding a paid holiday, in which case they shall receive the higher rate. For employees who work in excess of seven hours per day, they shall receive the higher rate if they have been working in a higher paid position for a majority of the 420 working hours preceding a paid holiday.
