Child with a disability definition

Child with a disability means a child who, by reason of any of the following, needs special education and related services:

• Child with a disability for children aged birth through nine (9) includes a child—(1) Who is experiencing developmental delays, as defined herein and as measured by appropriate diagnostic instruments and procedures, in two(2) or more of the following areas: physical development, cognitive development, communication development, social/emotional/behavioral development, or adaptive development; and(2) Who, by reason thereof, needs special education and related services.

More Definitions of Child with a disability

Child with a disability means any child who has a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the child, or who is regarded as having such an impairment by a competent medical professional;
