Certified seed definition

Certified seed means seed produced from plants grown directly from FOUNDATION SEED or REGISTERED SEED, cultivated according to certification regulations and that meets the specifications of the official seed certifying agency of the jurisdiction in which the seed is/was produced.
Certified seed means foundation and registered seed handled under procedures acceptable to the Department of Agriculture and Forestry to maintain satisfactory genetic purity and identity as defined according the standards of the official seed certification agency having jurisdiction in the area of production.
Certified seed means seed for which a certificate or any other instrument has been issued by an agency authorized under the laws of a state, territory, or possession to officially certify seed and that has standards and procedures approved by the United States Secretary of Agriculture to assure the genetic purity and identity of the seed certified.
