Building Industry means, without in any way limiting the ordinary meaning of the expression, the industry in which employers, employees and suppliers of services are associated for the purpose of erecting, completing, renovating, repairing, maintaining or altering buildings and structures (which are in the nature of buildings) and/or making of articles for use in the erection, completion or alteration of buildings and structures, whether the work is performed, the material is prepared or the necessary articles are made on the sites of the buildings or structures or elsewhere.

Should the matter remain unresolved either of the parties shall refer the dispute at first instance to the Victorian Building Industry Disputes Board (which shall deal with the dispute in accordance with VBIA procedures).
