Breakdown or Fault the internal failure or burning out of any component of your system whilst in ordinary use necessitating repair or replacement before it can resume normal operation.

  • Breakdown /“breaks down”/“broken down” means an event during the policy period, that stops the vehicle from being driven because of a mechanical or electrical failure including as a result of battery failure, running out of fuel, flat tyres, but not as a result of a mis-fuel, road traffic collision, fire, flood, theft, acts of vandalism, any driver induced fault, or any key related issue other than keys locked in your vehicle;

  • Act of God means a cataclysmic phenomenon of nature, including earthquake, flood or cyclone. Rain, snow, wind, high water or any other natural phenomenon, which might reasonably have been anticipated from historical records of the general locality of the City, shall be deemed not to be acts of God;

  • Cost of idle facilities or idle capacity means costs such as maintenance, repair, housing, rent, and other related costs, e.g., insurance, interest, property taxes and depreciation or use allowances.

  • Malfunction means any sudden, infrequent, and not reasonably preventable failure of air pollution control equipment, process equipment, or a process to operate in a normal or usual manner. Failures that are caused in part by poor maintenance or careless operation are not malfunctions.

  • Catastrophic Damage as used hereunder is major change or damage to In- cluded Timber on Sale Area, to Sale Area, to access to Sale Area, or a combination thereof:

  • Shortage means that a grain dealer does not have a sufficient amount of farm produce by class and quality to cover the grain dealer's outstanding warehouse receipt obligations for that farm produce.

  • Airborne radioactivity area means a room, enclosure, or area in which airborne radioactive materials, composed wholly or partly of licensed material, exist in concentrations:

  • Technical Failure means the discontinuation of Development or Commercialization of a Product for technical, scientific, medical or regulatory reasons, including, but, not limited to, unacceptable preclinical toxicity, demonstration of a side effect profile significantly worse than currently marketed products, or inability to manufacture in an acceptable purity or for an acceptable price.

  • Terrorist Incident means an act of violence by any person acting on behalf of or in connection with any organization which is generally recognized as having the intent to overthrow or influence the control of any government, that is deemed terrorism by the United States Government other than civil disorder or riot, that is not an act of war, declared or undeclared, that results in Loss of life or major damage to property.

  • Catastrophic injury or illness means a life-threatening injury or illness of an employee or a member of an employee's immediate family that totally incapacitates the employee from work, as verified by a licensed physician, and forces the employee to exhaust all leave time earned by that employee, resulting in the loss of compensation from the state for the employee. Conditions that are short-term in nature, including, but not limited to, common illnesses such as influenza and the measles, and common injuries, are not catastrophic. Chronic illnesses or injuries, such as cancer or major surgery, that result in intermittent absences from work and that are long-term in nature and require long recuperation periods may be considered catastrophic.

  • acid attack victims means a person disfigured due to violent assaults by throwing of acid or similar corrosive substance.

  • Excused Outage means any disruption to or unavailability of Services caused by or due to (i) Scheduled Maintenance,

  • Degradation means a decrease in the useful life of the right-of-way caused by excavation in or disturbance of the right-of-way, resulting in the need to reconstruct such right-of-way earlier than would be required if the excavation or disturbance did not occur.

  • Natural radioactivity means radioactivity of naturally occurring nuclides.

  • Certified Remanufacture System or Verified Engine Upgrade means engine upgrades certified or verified by EPA or CARB to achieve a reduction in emissions.

  • Extremity means hand, elbow, arm below the elbow, foot, knee, and leg below the knee.

  • Sabotage means deliberate damage, with malevolent intent, to a Category 1 or Category 2 quantity of radioactive material, a device that contains a Category 1 or Category 2 quantity of radioactive material, or the components of the security system.
