Alternate PSAP means a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) designated to receive calls when the primary PSAP is unable to do so.
Alternate PSAP is the PSAP designated by the controlling 9-1-1 Authority to receive a 9-1-1 call in the event the Selective Router is unable to complete the 9-1-1 call to the Designated PSAP because the PSAP trunks are busy or out of service.
