Affiliated Hospitals definition

Affiliated Hospitals as used herein, refers to hospitals providing medical services to members of the public during the course of an approved medical or other professional health care clinical training program, and which have affiliation agreements with the University to provide that training. These hospitals are collectively represented by the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) located at the University. The term "Hospital," as used herein, refers to the specific affiliated hospital where the Resident is on rotation at a given time. Each Hospital is a separate entity and cannot bind any of the others through its actions. The University agrees to appoint the Resident, and the Resident accepts appointment, as a trainee under the following terms and conditions:
Affiliated Hospitals shall be changed to “Affiliated Hospital”.

Examples of Affiliated Hospitals in a sentence

  • Authorized or consented to the assumption of a statutory or contractual obligation of the Governmental Entity by an Affiliated Hospital or any other entity acting on behalf of an Affiliated Hospital or group of Affiliated Hospitals.

  • An appointment to a medical housestaff position is made according to the terms of the contract negotiated annually by the Affiliated Hospitals Committee.

  • The Contractor may include as Affiliated Hospitals one or more Safety Net Hospitals, as identified by EOHHS, and may designate such Safety Net Hospitals to serve as the Contractor’s Participating Safety Net Hospitals.

  • Following the date this Certification was executed, assigned or agreed to assign a contractual or statutory obligation of the Governmental Entity to an Affiliated Hospital or any other entity acting on behalf of an Affiliated Hospital or group of Affiliated Hospitals; or ii.

  • Health Plan may share with BCBSM and may generally publish identifying information for Provider and Practitioner including, but not necessarily limited to name, office locations, specialties of practice, board certification status, performance data and Affiliated Hospitals in which Practitioner maintains staff privileges.

  • Resident Physicians ("Residents"), which shall include both “residents” and “clinical fellows,” pursuing their post-graduate training at The University of Texas at Houston Affiliated Hospitals Integrated Residency Training Program (“the Residency Training Program” or "the Program"), are appointed and employed by The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).

  • The MCO-Administered ACO shall develop, implement, and maintain protocols for Transitional Care Management with all of the MCO-Administered ACO’s Affiliated Hospitals.

  • Proprietary funds – The City maintains two different types of proprietary funds: Enterprise funds and internal service funds.

  • This Agreement, together with the House Staff Manual, shall also govern your relationship with each of the Affiliated Hospitals to which you are assigned.

  • These functions include, but are not limited to, issuance of paychecks and other personnel services, maintenance of records, procurement and administration of benefits, and provision of mechanisms for effective coordination of the Programs among its Affiliated Hospitals (see Section I.B.).

  • Affiliated Entities means any legal entity, including any corporation, limited liability company, partnership, not-for-profit corporation, estate planning vehicle or trust, which is directly or indirectly owned or controlled by the Stockholder or his or her descendants or spouse, of which such Stockholder or his or her descendants or spouse are beneficial owners, or which is under joint control or ownership with any other person or entity subject to a lock-up agreement regarding the Common Stock with terms substantially identical to this Agreement.

  • Participating Hospital means an Administrator Hospital that has an agreement with the Claim Administrator or another Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plan to provide Hospital services to participants in the Participating Provider Option program.

  • Participating private hospital means a hospital that has a hospital purchaser provider agreement with Latrobe.

  • Affiliated Entity means any entity controlling, controlled by, or under common control with an Insured.

  • Non-participating private hospital means a hospital that does not have a hospital purchaser provider agreement with Latrobe. (If you use a non-participating private hospital you may incur a large out-of- pocket expense.)

  • Affiliated Company means any company controlled by, controlling or under common control with the Company.

  • Affiliated Club means a football club affiliated with the League whose application for Membership has been approved in accordance with the Statement of Rules.

  • Affiliated has a correlative meaning.

  • Non-Participating Hospital means an Administrator Hospital that does not meet the definition of a Participating Hospital.

  • Public hospital means a governmental entity of a political subdivision of the state of Iowa that is authorized by legislative authority. For purposes of this subrule, a “public hospital” must also meet the requirements of Iowa Code section 249J.3. Under Iowa Code section 249J.3, a “public hospital” must be licensed pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 135B and governed pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 145A (merged hospitals), Iowa Code chapter 347 (county hospitals), Iowa Code chapter 347A (county hospitals payable from revenue), or Iowa Code chapter 392 (creation by city of a hospital or health care facility). For the purposes of this definition, “public hospital” does not include a hospital or medical care facility that is funded, operated, or administered by the Iowa department of human services, Iowa department of corrections, or board of regents, or the Iowa Veterans Home.

  • Affiliated Party means, with respect to any Purchaser, any person or entity which, directly or indirectly, controls, is controlled by or is under common control with such Purchaser, including, without limitation, any general partner, officer or director of such Purchaser and any venture capital fund now or hereafter existing which is controlled by one or more general partners of, or shares the same management company as, such Purchaser.

  • Non-Participating Home Infusion Therapy Provider means a Home Infusion Therapy Provider who does not have a written agreement with the Claim Administrator or another Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plan to provide services to you at the time services are rendered.

  • Teaching Hospital means a hospital that trains students to become physicians, nurses, or other health or laboratory personnel.

  • Affiliated Persons or "AFFILIATES" means

  • Participating Home Infusion Therapy Provider means a Home Infusion Therapy Provider who has a written agreement with the Claim Administrator or another Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plan to provide services to you at the time services are rendered.

  • Nonprofit entity means any entity organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes, or operated by the Federal Government, the State, or any political subdivision of the State.

  • Affiliated Group means any affiliated group within the meaning of Section 1504(a) of the Code or any similar group defined under a similar provision of state, local or foreign law.

  • Entities means event and competition organisers/promoters/managers, land and track owners/managers/administrators/lessees, CAMS affiliated clubs, state and territory governments and insured listed in CAMS’ public/product/professional indemnity insurance policies and each of their related bodies corporate (including their related bodies corporate) and each of their organs and agencies, officers/president/directors/executives, employees, servants, agents, partners, providers, members, competitors, drivers, co-drivers, navigators, officials, crew members, pit crew, delegates, licence holders, representatives, commissions, committees, advisers, trustees, councils, panels, shareholders, volunteers, officials, appointees, delegated bodies and sponsors.

  • Affiliated group of corporations means an affiliated group as defined in section 1504 of the Internal Revenue Code, except that, if such a group includes at least one incumbent local exchange carrier that is primarily engaged in the business of providing local exchange telephone service in this state, the affiliated group shall not include any incumbent local exchange carrier that would otherwise be included in the group.

  • Affiliated Companies shall include any company controlled by, controlling or under common control with the Company.

  • Mental Hospital means a health care facility (or its psychiatric unit) which:

  • Sponsors means (1) one or more investment funds controlled by Apollo Management, L.P. and its Affiliates (collectively, the “Apollo Sponsors”) and (2) any Person that forms a group (within the meaning of Section 13(d)(3) or Section 14(d)(2) of the Exchange Act, or any successor provision) with any Apollo Sponsors, provided that any Apollo Sponsor (x) owns a majority of the voting power and (y) controls a majority of the Board of Directors of the Company.

  • Hospital affiliate means a corporation, partnership,

  • SPECIALTY HOSPITAL means a hospital or the specialty unit of a general hospital that is licensed by the state. It must be designed to care for patients with injuries or special illnesses. This includes, but is not limited to, a long-term acute care unit, an acute mental health or acute short-term rehabilitation unit or hospital. Hospital does not mean: • convalescent home; • rest home; • nursing home; • home for the aged; • school and college infirmary; • residential treatment facility; • long-term care facility; • urgent care center or freestanding ambulatory surgical center; • facility providing mainly custodial, educational or rehabilitative care; or • a section of a hospital used for custodial, educational or rehabilitative care, even if accredited by the JCAHO or listed in the AHA directory.

  • General hospital means a subclass of hospital that provides surgical services and emergency services.
